If you’re looking for a quirky and charming roadside hotel in the heart of St. Augustine, look no further than The Local! This adorable boutique hotel is bursting with retro charm, from its flamingo-colored doors to its 1950s-inspired tropical decor. Whether you’re in town for a vacation or a business trip, The Local Hotel in St. Augustine is sure to make your stay memorable.

The Local hosted our stay. However, all opinions are my own.

One of the many beautiful sites in St. Augustine

The Local Hotel in St. Augustine is conveniently located along A1A. It’s minutes from the historical downtown St. Augustine, and Anastasia State Park. St. Augustine Beach is a short drive away.

While this is a roadside hotel, once inside the room, you cannot hear the traffic. That was an initial concern when we first arrived, however, I did not have any problems sleeping.

Digital Experience

One of the newest modern features of the local is the automated check-in process through their innovative app. Once my reservation was made, I was directed to download their app and set up my account. I was able to check-in via the app, and use it as my room key. No need for additional plastic keys to lose or throw out when we’re done. Check-out was also simply done through the app.

If I had any concerns or questions, The Local Hotel in St. Augustine provided a text/phone number for communication. I could text or call 24/7.

The hotel has a range of room types, from single full to king, and double full to queen. There are 21 rooms in total.

We had the Double queen with breakfast nook and it was plenty of space for our family of four. All of the rooms have a charming retro and tropical vibe.

They’ve updated the mattresses and bedding, which are super soft and comfortable.

Every room is updated with modern amenities, such as a flat-screen TV and mini-fridge.

My favorite, albeit small, updates are the toiletries. I appreciate a hotel that does not use small, wasteful shampoo bottles. Instead, a refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are mounted to the shower wall.

The Local Hotel in St. Augustine takes its retro vibe seriously. The outside is painted with fun flamingo colors. You can see it from the street, which is great for finding it.

Inside, each room has stunning, tropical, dreamy accent walls. Their social is what drew me in to begin with! That flamingo color continues with the linens in the bathroom. Such a surprising find!

The Local offers guests a variety of amenities, including an outdoor pool, free parking, complimentary WiFi, and access to Bike Rentals.

Coming soon is a garden lounge area that would be perfect for a small event or gathering, as well as a hospitality suite with coffee and music.

For the price you pay, The Local offers excellent value. Plus, thanks to keyless entry and permanent toiletries, The Local is on its way to being eco-friendly too.

Overall, I absolutely loved my stay at The Local hotel! If you’re looking for a unique and charming hotel in St. Augustine, be sure to check out this place. You won’t regret it!
