Directly west of Walt Disney World, nestled in 220 acres of authentic Florida flatlands, lies a thrilling off-road attraction that is a one-of-a-kind adventure. I’ll forewarn you… you will get dirty at Revolution Off Road in Clermont, FL.

Believe it or not, Florida is not just Disney and beaches. I should know since I live right in the heart of Central Florida. I love getting to explore the many outdoor style attractions that make up this area. Not quite as swampy as the Everglades (though we are part of that ecosystem) and not quite Southern plantation, our area is a mix of lakes and waterways, grand cypress trees and southern oaks. Yes, we have gators and orange groves that make us distinctly Floridian.

For Mother’s Day, we decided to play tourist in our own town and took an off-road adventure with Revolution Off Road. Located about a 30-minute drive from Walt Disney World, Revolution Off Road feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. Which is a good thing!

Our Mucky Duck Tour was sponsored by Revolution Off Road, however, all opinions are my own.

Because they are so far removed, Revolution Off Road has plenty of room to roam. They offer ATVs, 2-passenger buggies, fishing, archery, and Mucky Ducks. Just what is a Mucky Duck you ask? Let me be corny for a minute and say they are Mucking Amazing!

A Mucky Duck is an all wheel drive open vehicle that handles sand, mud, and water. Yep, you read that right, the Mucky Duck drives in water.

Wally and I took turns driving the Mucky Duck and we both drove over bumpy hills, mud holes and through the lily pads and swamp reedy lake.

Here’s a video of us going into the water.

Our tour was guided, and I’m sure we would have been lost without our guide. We were on the trails for over 90 minutes and it included 2 times in the water. The tour guide also took most of the pictures seen here. I would have never been able to get these shots on my own!!

I will say I laughed the whole time. This was definitely something I’ve never done before and unique experience, to say the least! If you’re looking for something different to do not far from the Disney area, I would recommend checking out Revolution Off Road, you won’t be disappointed!

The Mucky Duck experience is $76 per adult. To purchase tickets for this or their other experiences, click here.

  1. I road 4 wheelers through the swamps of Louisiana, but honestly, I just never got excited about it. I’d much rather be hiking or biking instead. Sounds like you had tons of fun though 🙂

  2. I’ve always wanted to get out on the Everglades or just somewhere on the water in Miami, but this is right up my alley. Getting dirty doesn’t bother me at all. Looks super fun.

  3. My husband and kids would be all over this. We are thinking about a trip to FL this summer, so I’ll definitely look into this.

    1. Dana, this is truly one of those hidden gems here I think. Everything you see is all about the attractions. And in the summer it rains more, so more mud holes!

  4. We just had our first little one. I can’t wait to travel with him but have to admit that one of the things I find already “missing” is adventure stuff (SCUBA diving, I’ve bunjee jumped, paraglided, etc) so it is really cool to see “Adventure” stuff with your kiddos. Gives me a bit of inspiration for the future!

    1. I know what you mean LeAnna, and while my kids are 10 & 12, I think this could be done with a 5 year old, so you should have to wait too long!

  5. That looks like a lot of fun! It’s good to see other activities in that area being talked about, since mostly it’s all Disney all the time. I bet the kids had a blast trudging through all that mud.

  6. That adventure looks like so much fun. On some Twitter chat the other day I was talking about unpaved roads in Florida and someone asked about near Orlando. I would definitely point them to this article.

  7. That looks like so much fun! My 14 year old would absolutely love it. I have never heard of the Mighty Duck, but probably because I haven’t made it to Orlando yet!

    1. Alexa I can’t believe you’ve never been to this area! In 2 years your son will be old enough to do the 4 wheelers on his own. I bet he would love it!

  8. This looks like so much muddy fun – I bet kids would love it. I can only imagine how smooth yous skin would feel afterwards when you finally scrub off all the mud.

  10. Okay that looks like a lot of fun!

The only time I have been in that kind of mud was when I was stuck and had to get help to get unstuck. 🙂
