East Shore Resort is rated on Trip Advisor as Clearwater’s number 1 hotel resort property. Once you visit, it’s easy to see why. To be number one, and compete with the large chain hotels, this bay side resort goes beyond the above and beyond of other hotels. This family run property is a Detail Oriented Traveler’s dream. The delightful details and smallest considerations added up to an enjoyable, everything-we-could-need stay.
East Shore Resort sponsored our stay, however all opinions are my own.
East Shore Resort
Located on East Shore Drive in Clearwater, East Shore Resort is directly on the intercoastal Clearwater Bay, and about a 5 minute across Mandalay Ave to ocean side of Clearwater Beach.
The property is split into 2 sections, with 12 units total for rent. Each unit comes with a fully stocked kitchen. Size ranges from studio to two bedroom.
We stayed in a two bedroom unit, with enough sleeping space for up to 7 people, thanks to a fold out sofa. Our kitchen was fully stocked with plates, cups, flatware and pans. The fridge is full size and a small dishwasher saved us time from washing dishes.
The rooms were impeccably clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep. While the television in our room seemed loud, even at the lowest level, it didn’t bother our children in the next room.
The bathroom had good temperature and water pressure and a complete linen closet provided us with more than enough towels for our stay.
We had a front screen porch overlooking the bay, as well as an outdoor table where we took our lunch. This extended our living space and I found sitting on the porch, interacting with the wildlife immensely enjoyable.
The property itself is meticulously landscaped and well laid out. Grass and hedges are trimmed, flowers and trees provide a lovely tropical Florida feel. Sidewalks are well maintained and cleared off daily. The property also includes a large marina fishing dock. Large yachts and boats can dock here, whether they are staying on site or not. The dock also includes a patio seating area and swing. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot dolphins or manatees. We were treated to several jellyfish floating just under the surface of the water.
A large covered pavilion provides more gathering space, including tables and chairs. While we didn’t take advantage of it, you can also grill next to the pavilion. Located strategically throughout the property, speakers played a mix of modern and classic hits.
Additionally, everything is easy to access at East Shore Resort. The pool is just next to the pavilion and laundry facilities next to that, where you can find beach towels. In between you’ll find the storage units containing an incredible amount of amenities for guests’ use.
Here’s where we get in to the delightful details of East Shore Resort, and what makes it an incredibly special property. East Shore provides nearly anything you can think of to further enjoy your stay. This is just a sampling of what I noticed available for guest to use…Free.
- 2 Bicycles
- Numerous fishing poles
- beach chairs
- beach toys
- outdoor grill
- condiments in case you forgot your own
- washer and dryers – yes, free… no coins needed
- laundry detergent
- beach towels
- board games
While you might expect to find some of these things at smaller, family owned resort, I have never seen so much available at one place. Forget your sunscreen, no need to walk to the expensive drug store. Don’t worry about hauling all your beach equipment with you, just borrow whats available on site. Want to try your hand at fishing, grab a pole and bait.
East Shore Resort leaves nothing out. I can’t think of a better place to vacation as a family and look forward to bringing more family and friends here in the future.
East Shore Resort is also close to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, which has Winter from Dolphin Tale. I highly recommend visiting.
