Clermont, Florida may be a small town but it is a gem of a city. In fact, it was once called the Gem of the Hills. It puts definition to the phrase “Love where you live.” Not only can you find the usual shopping, dining, and entertainment in Clermont, but you will find history, culture, adventure, and art. Living in this area, we’ve discovered some fun and unusual things to do in Clermont Florida.
Citrus Tower
One of the most well-known stops in Central Florida is located right in the middle of Clermont. The Citrus Tower is located on Highway 27 and Citrus Tower Blvd. Built in 1956, the Citrus Tower stands 226 ft tall. You can take an elevator to the top and see 360-degree breathtaking views. Make your visit complete with a stop in the Tower Arcade and the coffee and bagel shop on the ground floor. You will also find a board game store and restaurants in the same plaza that is well worth the visit.
President’s Hall of Fame
Located right next door to the Citrus Tower, Clermont offers the President’s Hall of Fame. This little slice of history began back in the 1960’s. One of the most fascinating parts of this place is the model of the White House. However, education meets entertainment with wax figures of various presidents that offer historical insight into our nation’s history. Among some of the other notable exhibits are the Oval Office, Uncle Sam, The Liberty Bell, The State Dining Room, and Mount Rushmore.

Clermont’s Historic Village
Speaking of history buffs…stop by Clermont’s Historic Village in downtown. You can set up a tour of the old village that includes a schoolhouse, the old library, a WWII museum, a train depot. Finish up the tour and take a picnic down by Lake Minneola right next door.
Nature Things to Do in Clermont Florida
How about a little adventure? Rent a kayak on Lake Louisa and tour the city by the waterways. Play disc golf at Hiawatha Park. How about a run or a bike ride on our beautiful and vast trails? Go for a hike in the Crooked River Preserve and bring a camera because the wildlife is something to marvel.
Revolution Off Road
A truly unique experience in Clermont is Revolution Off Road. This off the beaten path attraction allows you to go truly, off the beaten path. Rent ATVs or get a Mucky Duck and explore the area. Revolution Off Road also has archery. Prepare to get dirty!
