What caught my attention immediately was the efficient and hassle-free check-in process. The staff were friendly, and the process itself was a breeze.
With the well-organized queues and state-of-the-art self-check-in kiosks, I was swiftly on my way to making the short walk to security. It’s these small yet significant details that set the tone for a memorable journey.

Ah, security screening – the checkpoint that often feels like a hurdle. But not at DAB. Their security procedures are top-notch, seamlessly ensuring our safety while minimizing any inconvenience.
The Daytona airport security wait times were easily under 30 minutes.
You’ll notice at smaller airports, if you have TSA pre-check, you will fly through security even faster. Often it’s still a separate line, but the same screening area. You’re given a card that designates your TSA status, so you may go through the same line as others but still get the pre-check privileges.

Now, let’s fast forward to the boarding process. It’s no secret that the pre-flight hustle can be a bit chaotic, but not here. The gates were well-organized, with plenty of space to stretch out and charge your devices before takeoff.

As it’s a smaller airport, you’ll find grab-and-go convenience and s small dining restaurant, both with menu service and more grab-and-go hot foods.
We were able to get coffee and warm breakfast sandwiches before our mid-morning flight.
There’s also a full-service bar just before heading through security.
Lounges and Relaxation Areas
My favorite part of the Daytona International Airport review is the business center lounge and library. That’s where DAB’s lounges and shine.
First, you do not need to have a lounge pass to enter the business center. It’s open to everyone. It’s filled with tables and comfy chairs to unwind and relax before your flight. Plus, there are outlets everywhere to charge your electronics.
Second is the library. Volusia County Library stocks the shelves with books that you can “check out” for free. Bonus, you don’t even have to return it. Stickers on the book just ask that you pass it along to another traveler.
Prefer audio or e-readers? Stop by the library to scan the QR code and get access to hundreds of titles for your digital device, including magazines. Again, all free!
