You may remember the Ripley’s Believe it or Not television series when you were young. In fact, the television series aired in many variations for over 60 years. With 35 years of exploring over 200 countries, Mr. Ripley collected thousands and thousands of stories and artifacts of the unusual. This led to the odditoriums, first traveling, and now permanent exhibits where you can believe it, or not! Ripley’s Believe it or Not in Times Square is one of these odditoriums and is an impressive collection of oddities and fun things to do.

The Ripley’s Experience

Ripley's Times Square Ripley's Believe It or Not

Even though both my children have visited a Ripley’s Believe it or Not in St. Augustine, each collection of oddities is unique. You cannot have the same experience twice. Ripley’s Times Square has several rooms full of displays, more than meets the eye initially.

Baseball lovers will also find an exclusive, one of a kind, baseball exhibit dedicated to Mr. Ripley’s baseball team. Did you know he played for the New York Giants?

Each time we visit a Ripley’s Believe it or Not attraction, including Ripley’s Times Square, my children enjoy themselves and find lots to explore and talk about later. They enjoyed the torture chamber exhibits, because, teenagers I guess! I enjoyed the funhouse mirror effects.

Ripley’s Relic

In addition to the museum, Ripley’s Times Square has a separately ticketed experience called Ripley’s Relic. This is a guided escape room type of experience, perfect for families, even those with young kids. Groups work together to solve a puzzle in order to escape. Because there is a guide, help is offered and suggested along the way. If you want a full escape room experience, I would go ahead and skip this. However, if you have young children, or have never done an escape room before, this is a perfect and fun way to get your feet wet.
